Leaf Man

Today we read the book Leaf Man and made our own leaf people! The kids had a blast picking out and arranging their leaves, and I LOVE how they turned out! We have spent nearly the whole week learning about leaves.

L Week

L Week has been a lot of fun. Monday we went on a leaf hunt and found leaves to use for our leaf people. We read books about leaves, met Mrs. L who has the longest laugh, and used paint and saran wrap to make some very colorful leaves. Here they are drying!

Close up of the finished products

Here they are on the tree we made. They are so colorful and even have 'veins' in them from the lines from the saran wrap. I couldn't love them more! They turned out great

Today we used our leaves to do some leave tracing. These also turned out really well and were very colorful. We've been reading so many books about leaves and Autumn, I think the kids are really catching on. I caught them looking at the leaves in the trees and pointing out ones that were changing colors!

Welcome to Teaching

I'm creating this blog as a way for me to document and remember what I do with my preschool classes each year. Right now I'm teaching 17 four year olds 5 days a week. Here are some of the things we did for the first few weeks of school.
